ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Borders Books & Music(R) and Waldenbooks(R) stores across the country will be hosting "Educator Savings Days" Oct. 14 through Oct. 18 to honor teachers, homeschoolers, school administrators, librarians and others for their commitment to sharing knowledge and encouraging life-long learning.

--Children's author Jan Brett, who will appear Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. CDT at Borders in Champaign, Ill.

--Young Adult and Horror genre author Clive Barker, who will appear Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at Borders in the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle in New York.

--Film director John Waters, who will appear Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at Borders in Timonium, Maryland near Baltimore.

--Country music singer Wynonna Judd, who will appear Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. CDT at Borders on North Michigan Avenue in Chicago.

To kick off the celebration all Borders stores nationwide will host a special reception, Friday, Oct. 14, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., when educators will be treated to live music, giveaways, and refreshments. In addition to the Friday night receptions and visits by national celebrities, local music performances, author events and other activities will be held throughout the kick-off weekend.

Borders and Waldenbooks stores also have a year-round educational sales program giving educators special services such as free price quotes, discounts on purchases for classroom use, and assistance in building classroom title lists.
